Club Meetings

4-H members are given the opportunity to learn and practice decision making in group situations. Members are expected to attend their club’s gatherings, and parents are encouraged to attend as well, as 4-H is a family affair.

Cico Shamrocks meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of each month. Meetings usually start at 7 p.m. in Pottorf Hall at Cico Park. The meeting will generally start with some activities to help members get to know each other. Roll call for each meeting is decided on by the junior officers and announced before each meeting.

The business portion of the meeting is the opportunity for the club to ccomplish any business it needs to get done. Committees and officers give reports and any decisions are made by the members using parliamentary procedure.

The program portion of the meeting is the heart of most 4-H meetings and often includes project talks or demonstrations by club members. The program should be educational because 4-H is all about learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. This is also a good time to have a goal setting session or team- building activity.

Our club meetings gnerally end with refreshments provided by the meeting's host family. All club families are encouraged to sign up for a turn bring refreshments. This is a great time for members to get to know each other and parents to visit.

4-H Council Meetings

4-H Council is an organization that represents the views of each club. As a representative, you represent your club’s viewpoints during 4-H Council. The representatives are responsible for taking information back to the 4-H Club. If a representative must be absent, it is recommended that a replacement be found for that meeting.
