4-H Beef Weigh-In — February 9, 2019

Dear Riley County Beef Project member,

Market Beef — Riley County 4-H Beef Weigh-In will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9 at the Riley County Fairgrounds.  All market beef animals (both steers and market heifers) that will be shown at the Riley County Fair must be weighed and tagged on this date.

Heifers — Weighing and tagging is not required for breeding heifers.  However, they must be owned by June 15 to be eligible to show at the Riley County Fair.  Heifers must be registered in the 4-Hers name by June 15 if they are to be shown in the registered classes.

Bucket Calves – Bucket calves must be born between January 1 and May 1, and need to be tagged with an official 4-H ear tag by May 15.  They don’t have to come to weigh-in (but they can).  They may be tagged at home with a non-family member verifying the tagging.
