4-H Sheep/Goat/Swine/Bucket Calf Tagging Information

4-H Sheep/Goat/Swine/Bucket Calf Project Member,

Sheep and goat tagging for the Riley County Fair is scheduled forMonday, May 6, 5:00-7:00 p.m., in Hurlburt Hall on the Riley County Fair Grounds in Manhattan.  All market lambs and market goats must be tagged to be eligible to exhibit at the Riley County Fair.

Swine may be tagged at home as has been done in previous years, or they may come to the May 6 tagging, by appointment only.  Swine exhibitors received a separate e-mail, detailing the process.

Bucket calves that will be exhibited at the Riley County Fair need to be tagged with an official 4-H ear tag by May 15.  Tags are available at the Extension Office.  Please call for tagging details and instructions as soon as possible.

Other important details regarding the bucket calf project:

  • Calf is to be born between January 1 and May 1 of the current year.
  • 4-Her must be enrolled in the bucket calf project
  • 4-H member may be no older than 12 years of age on January 1 of the current year
