Riley County 4-H Pets Project Field Trip

To: All Riley County 4-H’ers in the Pets Project, or interested in Pets!

K-State Open House, College of Veterinary Medicine

When: Saturday, April 6, 2019, 11:15 a.m.

Where: Meet at the “Emergency Entrance” on the West side of the K-State Vet Med Center.

Who: 4-H’ers (bring your parent/guardian, as a lot of the activities are hands-on, and you’ll want to spend extra time doing a certain thing that you find to be interesting)

***Doors open at 9:00 a.m., so if you want to spend extra time at lots of exhibits/activities, please feel free to come early!
9:00 – 11:00 – Various Activities for 4-H’ers and their parent/guardian

Here is our group schedule:

11:30-12:30 – Presentations from the Sunset Zoo’s Education Department.Frick Auditorium.
12:30 – LUNCH Pork burger, baked beans and soda prepared by Swine Vet Club. Mosier Hall.
1:00 p.m. College of Veterinary Medicine informational presentation: Prepare to be a competitive applicant. Frick Auditorium. Guided tour of the Veterinary Health Center. Trotter Hall Courtyard.
2:00 p.m. Veterinary Medicine Pet Show: Cheer on the talented pets of K-State veterinary students as they compete in a variety of categories. Frick Auditorium. Riley County Police Department K-9 demonstration. Trotter Hall Courtyard.

(You can come at whatever time is good for you and see what you find interesting. The schedule is for our group, but please feel free to go with your parent/guardian to do things that you want to see.)

***Parking – We can park in LOT B 5 directly behind Vet Med (East side). This is straight North of Call Hall. Other parking lots close by include the Rec Center Parking or Edwards Hall Parking. These are both across the street to the West of Vet Med. Be CAREFUL when you cross the street if you park in these lots!
